About Mireille Bertrand

Fascinated with makeup ever since she was a child growing up in France, Mireille Bertrand is recognized by her peers and leaders in the beauty and fashion fields as one of the finest working artists today.

With over twenty years in the industry, my skills and experience have covered makeup and hair design for performers, actors, and models, in print, electronic media, and live shows. I have earned multiple diplomas in Aesthetics, Cosmetology, Make-up Artistry, Advanced Make-up and Skincare as well as in Business Development.

Early in my career, I assisted extensively on runway shows in Paris, London, and Milan with designers such as Moschino, Armani, and Christian Dior. I've applied my makeup magic for the respected Galleries Lafayettes in Paris where I promoted prestigious companies like Yves Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, and Dior. I specialize in underwater makeup application, and this year I was delighted to be honored along with celebrity stylist Maryl Velbeck at NAHA (North American Hair Styling Awards) for Editorial Stylist of the Year for our famous underwater piece “Sirens of the Sea.”

Destiny brought me to Miami and Los Angeles where I do makeup and hair artistry and have been featured in advertising promotions for Sue Wong, Georgio Armani, Baccarat, and dozens of other respected names. My work has prominently appeared in numerous magazines such as world-famous Glamour, Marie-Claire, Modern Bride, and Elle. With my talent, creativity, and ability to bring the looks of the world’s fashion runways to the red carpet, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some of the most beautiful and sought-after faces in Hollywood.

Besides displaying my artistry on the faces of celebrities, my designs frequently appear front and center at the most exclusive fashion shows in the world, including Givenchy, Armani, Rochas, Valentino and many others. With my prominence in the field, I also often serves as a platform guest make-up artist at trade shows, in exclusive department stores and shares my passion for hair design as a Brand Ambassador representing amika.

Today, my passion for makeup and my years of experience also allow me to do what I love most: share my knowledge in my own establishment. I am the founder and creative director of MAQUILLAGE USA, a one-of-a-kind professional makeup school that offers an in-depth curriculum featuring courses in everything from Beauty to Airbrush Makeup. It is the only makeup school in Southern CA. that provides photo sessions every week and a full week of business etiquette, ensuring that all students are fully prepared to start working in the industry immediately upon graduation.
